Slip Shift Lite

Slip Shift Lite

Slip Shift Lite is the exciting new game from Lightning Wrench Software. On a board full of colorful shapes use your finger to slide the rows and columns around to created square or rectangular groups of similar blocks. The timer at the top left of the screen shows you what next set of blocks is going to clear. Create larger groups to increase your combo-multiplier and get more points! The gauge on the right side of the screen shows you how many points you need to reach the next level. Six different game modes in the full version provide many different challenges and hours of entertainment!

Rubick's Cube meets Lumines!

Here in the demo you only can play the main game's first 4 levels, more than enough to get a taste of what awaits you in the full game.

This game is nice and straight forward without a lot of extra fluff. Slide pieces around to form a 2x2 or bigger area of the currently highlighted color (the big piece in the center of the symbols in the upper left). The Lumines aspect is the whole concept of timing in this game. You need to have the currently hightlighted symbol grouping in place before the big piece is lit up (the little pieces are lit up one at a time working around the figure in a clockwise direction until the big guy is lit up and all 2x2 or bigger groupings of that color are eliminated) after which the whole line moves up a space and the little piece above the big piece now becomes the new big one. Everytime you are able to clear at least one group of the highlighted color you'll keep raising up the multiplier but the second you miss even one, your streak is broken and you'll start back at x1. As the game continues the time it takes to run through the fuse gets shorter and shorter meaning you'll need to get more and more effiecient at setting up these big blocks. The Full Version offers a few cute alternative modes (weird tweaks like having limited moves or just playing on one continuous level as opposed to having the game broken up in levels).

My only whine at this point is the game's local score tracking system. While I apreciate how each mode has its top scores tracked individually, and don't even mind only being able to enter my 3 initials, the controls to enter your initials are VERY awkward and the game doesn't remember your last setting. The devs told me that they plan on soon incorporating gloabal rankins as well as simply being able to enter your full nick (not just the 3 initials).
